"Evolutionary and Physiological Adaptation to Climate Induced Environmental Changes"

ESF workshop on evolutionary and physiological adaptation to climate induced environmental changes.

The Mammal Research Institute PAS, supported by grants from The European Science Foundation through the networking programs ConGen and ThermAdapt is organizing a workshop entitled "Evolutionary and Physiological Adaptation to Climate Induced Environmental Changes" for PhD students and young scientists mainly from EU countries. In this workshop we will merge knowledge from population genetics and molecular and evolutionary physiology in a multidisciplinary fashion and discuss possible approaches for a deeper understanding of mechanisms behind adaptation to thermal changes. The costs of participation in the workshop (fee and accommodation in Bialowieza) are covered by the European Science Foundation.

The Workshop will take place on June 29 – July 1, 2009. Further information about the workshop including application procedures, a list of invited speakers and information about accommodation and transportation from Warsaw to Bialowieza (and return) can be found at: http://asg.agrsci.dk/workshop/bialowieza.

The deadline for application is March 15, 2009.
